A monthly legislative update from the desk of Representative Ben Moss, Vice Chair of the N.C. House Freedom Caucus.
Hi John,
As we welcome the Christmas season, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you and your family. This special time of year reminds us of the values we hold dear: faith, community, and gratitude. I am deeply thankful for the trust you’ve placed in me to represent Richmond and Moore counties in the North Carolina House. Serving as your State Representative is an honor, and I remain dedicated to advancing the common-sense conservative policies that help our communities thrive.
Approaching the new year, let's reflect on the progress we've made together and look ahead to the opportunities that rest ahead. This newsletter highlights some of our latest work in the General Assembly, including updates on legislative action and our ongoing efforts to serve you. As always, my office is here to listen to your questions, concerns, or feedback. I appreciate hearing from you and wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
At your service,
Ben

North Carolina General Assembly
** REQUIRING PHOTO ID FOR ALL VOTERS
------------------------------------------------------------
This month, the NC House has passed legislation to strengthen the integrity of our election system by amending the state constitution to require Voted ID for ALL voters — not just those voting in person. This measure will be on your ballot for consideration in November 2026.
** TERM LIMITS FOR CONGRESS
------------------------------------------------------------
The General Assembly has officially passed a resolution calling for an Article V Convention of States to propose an amendment to the U.S. Constitution imposing term limits on Congress.
This is a significant step toward restoring accountability and breaking the cycle of career politicians in Washington. By limiting the number of terms members of the House and Senate can serve, we’re standing up for the principle that public service should be about serving the people — not personal power.
I'm proud to be a co-sponsor of this legislation, joining several other states across the country to demand this much-needed reform. It’s time to return Congress to its rightful purpose: representing the will of the American people. Let’s keep fighting for a government that works for you!
