Sign the petition: Tell Mitch McConnell to support commonsense gun safety legislation >>> [link removed]

Friend, I keep seeing the same vicious cycle repeat itself over and over again.

There's a horrific shooting, Americans are killed, politicians rush in to offer their "thoughts and prayers" but do nothing else, the media questions if this is the shooting that will "change the status quo," and then...

...nothing happens. It's sickening.

I saw this cycle occur after the Pulse nightclub shooting in June 2016, when then-Congressman John Mica took NRA donations just days after the tragedy. Sick and tired of politicians offering words of support but refusing to lift a finger to address our gun violence epidemic, I challenged the Congressman later that year...and won. Ever since, I've fought in the House of Representatives to pass commonsense gun safety legislation, so we can end this cycle once and for all.

Unfortunately, the cycle continues. We saw it rear its ugly head in El Paso, Texas, on August 3rd, and then again the following day in Dayton, Ohio. The cycle will continue unless we, the American people, force our elected leaders to do something about gun violence in this country. The House of Representatives has passed gun safety legislation, it's time for the Senate to do their jobs and do the same.

That's why I'm personally writing this email. Will you add your name to my petition calling on Mitch McConnell to support commonsense gun safety legislation?
