John,
Earlier this week, I wrote to you outlining the work necessary to create nationwide change. With the uncertainty we are facing on the federal landscape, we must create a safer future by passing gun safety laws at state level. That’s why we are focused on passing Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) and other gun safety measures in states like Washington and Maine!
In Maine, we’re proud to be partnering with the Maine Gun Safety Coalition , whose leadership and advocacy are driving critical progress. This year, their efforts have been nothing short of remarkable. Through hard work and grassroots mobilization, they have already secured over three-quarters of the signatures needed to place ERPO on the state’s ballot. ERPOs are a critical tool in preventing gun violence, allowing law enforcement to temporarily remove firearms from individuals who are a danger to themselves or others.
This is a major milestone , but we need your help to ensure this life-saving measure is on the ballot and passed into law. The success of this campaign will have a profound impact, not just in Maine, but as a shining example for how the Alliance’s work in Washington can continue to be replicated nationwide.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to working with our partners and local advocates to push forward on key gun safety measures in Maine. But we can’t do it without the continued support of people like you .
We hope you will consider making an end-of-year donation of $20.00 to help us build a safer future for Maine [[link removed]] . Your support will allow us to continue this vital work, ensure that ERPOs make it to the ballot, and protect the lives of countless individuals at risk.
Maine voters have an opportunity to pass a historic law to reduce gun violence, but that change will only happen with your help. Gun violence is not just a political debate—it is a matter of life and death, and it is up to all of us to take action to protect our communities, our children, and our future.
Thank you for your commitment to making Washington, Maine, and the nation a safer place for all. Your support is crucial in ensuring that we can continue this work and save lives.
