A year of collaboration leads to first conviction in sexual abuse case for minor
A rural indigenous community in Honduras with one of the highest levels of violence against women and children is witnessing the unimaginable: a man who sexually abused his niece was arrested and sentenced to 7 years in prison. IJM and a partner trained advocates to support survivors and understand Honduran law. Even though sexual abuse was commonly accepted in the community, the training equipped the survivor to file a complaint that amazingly resulted in justice.

NFL players support IJM on and off the field
Each year, NFL players champion and bring awareness to an important cause through the My Cause My Cleats initiative. This year players Baker Mayfield, Scott Daly, Dillion Radunz, Adam Prentice, Kingsley Jonathan, and Matt Orzech supported IJM with their custom shoes. Baker Mayfield shared, “These cleats represent fighting for freedom and justice.”

Expressing confidence in this training the Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Justice shared, “The Prime Minister has taken a very strong step to combat human trafficking in Bangladesh. Therefore, following her advice, all the relevant agencies should work together to bring a systematic change to ensure justice for the victims.”
