"Comstock is an archaic law Trump and his MAGA allies plan to misinterpret to completely bypass Congress. In fact, Trump’s lawyer, Jonathan F. Mitchell, a key architect of Project 2025 and virulent anti-abortion crusader, put it plainly, “We don’t need a federal ban when we have Comstock on the books.” Trump told us his goal was to overturn Roe v. Wade. Now that they have clearly stated their plan to use the Comstock Act—we need to believe them."

Let us be clear: Arizonans voted resoundingly to enshrine abortion care and reproductive access in our state constitution, and AG Kris Mayes will work day and night to ensure that the rights of Arizonans are upheld.

But with Donald Trump in the White House, anti-choice majorities in the House and Senate, and a Health and Human Services nominee working to enact the GOP’s anti-choice agenda, we’ll have to be vigilant and ready to protect our right to abortion care.

We have no doubt that the GOP will use every tool at their disposal to attack abortion care nationwide and we need to make sure our pro-choice coalition is stronger than ever to resist the attacks of the next Trump Administration.
