The Moments That Shaped 2024

Many in the pro-democracy space have serious concerns about what 2025 may bring. While Campaign Legal Center (CLC) is ramping up efforts to address these concerns in the new year, we also would like to take a moment to acknowledge just some of the meaningful democracy-advancing victories in 2024 that furthered our efforts to advance a representative, responsive and accountable government.

CLC played an integral role in the fight to protect the freedom to vote from bad actors seeking to restrict that freedom in the lead-up to Election Day. We protected the electoral process by pursuing a comprehensive strategy to ensure states could administer their elections without interference or unlawful delays. We countered misinformation and disinformation to increase trust in our elections. We saw state elections that better reflected the will of the voters in places like Wisconsin and North Dakota thanks to redistricting victories. And we repeatedly sought accountability for political candidates who violated campaign finance laws and ethical standards.

In this final round-up of the year, we also would like to recognize our partners, allies and supporters who make this work possible. No matter what comes next, rest assured that CLC is fully prepared to tackle the roadblocks of tomorrow. We will continue to fight for the rule of law, the Constitution and every American while working tirelessly to make sure we have free and fair elections in 2026 and 2028. CLC is ready to solve the wide range of challenges facing American democracy in the new year — and beyond.
