If you haven’t seen the news lately, the Trump-Elon Musk coalition has just killed a critical spending package that would have funded disaster relief, critical infrastructure, and so much more.

Now, we’re once again facing a potential shutdown if a deal isn’t reached by midnight tomorrow. This shutdown will cost Michiganders millions of dollars during the holiday season.

This was a bipartisan, bicameral deal that was struck down not by any elected representative but by the wealthiest person in the world, unelected Elon Musk. Let me be clear: a man making 55 million dollars every.single.day. should not have the ability to jeopardize the lives of millions of Americans, including veterans, the elderly, and children just so the Republicans can give billionaires like himself tax cuts. He has no idea how much this will hurt everyday Americans.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Trump, his Republican majority in Congress, and Elon Musk are working for each other, not the American people.

Next year, I’ll be spending every spare minute fighting back and ensuring our communities remain protected from the chaos of the Trump-Elon administration. But I need your support.
