While the votes are still being counted, I want to thank you for doing your part in keeping our democracy alive. Voter participation in Oregon has been on a roll since we adopted the vote-by-mail method and this year is no different.
We showed up with strong support for the HereTogether housing bond because no one knows better than folks in the Portland metro area that our affordable housing crisis cannot be ignored any longer.
I want to congratulate the many campaigns who rose to the challenge of this shutdown and rewrote how we reach voters and serve the public; so many ran innovative, effective campaigns - even in the middle of a global health crisis.
As we head full speed toward November and beyond, we'll keep fighting for our progressive values, for our children's future, for the rights of every Oregonian. We won't let anything stand in our way.
Ensuring our schools support every student's right to learn, taking meaningful action on gun safety, protecting our most vulnerable, and of course, recovering from a catastrophic public health crisis - we've got our work cut out for us this year. And there's no one I'd rather count on than our movement of grassroots supporters to make sure we get it done.
Let's do this,
Rob
