Dear Friends:
What a year this has been — 12 months of Israel at war and hostages in captivity. And 12 months of record-high antisemitic incidents at home and overseas, on campus and online, at our synagogues and our businesses.
At too many colleges and universities, protesters constructed encampments and glorified the terrorists behind October 7. And just a few months ago, I found myself in Amsterdam, consoling our brothers and sisters there just days after a literal pogrom.
In 2024, we saw a tsunami of antisemitism and hate, and ADL fought back. With you.
In 2024, ADL didn’t just call out state sponsors of terror and homegrown extremists. We actually sued them. ADL filed a landmark federal lawsuit against Iran, Syria and North Korea for providing material support to Hamas to commit their atrocities on Oct. 7.
In 2024, thanks in part to the advocacy of ADL volunteers across the U.S., the Department of Homeland Security allocated a historic $454.5M to the Nonprofit Security Grant Program which funds security enhancements to synagogues and other houses of worship, along with other at-risk nonprofits.
In 2024, ADL bought and built new technology to better equip us to disrupt the actions of bad actors across the ideological spectrum, from right-wing extremists to left-wing anti-Zionists.
In 2024, ADL didn’t just issue statements and condemnations of antisemitism — we developed new products like our Campus Antisemitism Report Card to compare universities on how they tackle antisemitism, celebrating those who get it right and calling out those who get it wrong. Our new program, CALL, the Campus Antisemitism Legal Line, launched with partners, connected students and faculty who experienced antisemitism on campus with top-flight legal help.
In 2024, our two dozen regional offices worked with their communities and law enforcement to respond to incidents, lobbied elected officials, and made your voices heard.
As we look to the coming year, we will tackle these issues — and more. We are constantly innovating and testing new ways to stop the spread of antisemitism wherever it emerges.
I don’t know what the next 12 months will bring. I hope it will be a year where we see our hostages home, Israel secure, and the Jewish people living in safety wherever they may be. I know that together, we won’t just wish and hope for this to happen. We will do everything to make it happen.
I am so grateful for your support because I know that we can only do this work with you at our side. May you have a joyous Hanukkah and holiday season, and wonderful new year.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Greenblatt
CEO and National Director
