Marianne Williamson endorsed a number of congressional candidates this election cycle and I am proud to be one of them.

Our district is unlike any other — it’s the 10th largest district in the entire country and has the largest Native American population.

Sadly, if the Navajo Nation was a state, it would be first in coronavirus cases per capita.

Yet, Indeginous people are being treated as an afterthought by our federal government. Not only do families on the reservation suffer from centuries of government-perpetuated racism and ethnocide, many still don’t have basic infrastructure we take for granted. For example, 30% of people who live on the reservation don’t have running water. It took longer than a month before tribes received a cent of coronavirus relief money from our federal government.

Right now, our country is at a moral crossroads. How we respond within our most vulnerable communities sets the tone for our collective future.

Marianne and I both share a vision for a just, generous, inclusive, and healthy America. We also know that to achieve it, we have to fundamentally change what kind of policymakers we send to Washington.
