Public Policy Action Alert

Older Adults Might be Left Out of Government Funding Bill

Yesterday, Congress had bipartisan support for a funding bill that would extend and protect key aging services programs. Now, negotiations are back to square one, and older adults could be left out.

We're asking our entire network to urge their members of Congress to protect and extend these at-risk programs.

The Older Americans Act

The Older Americans Act powers critical services like:
* Elder rights protections
* Senior center programs
* Nutrition programs
* Job training and placement
* Health education programs
* Caregiver support
* And more!

Tell Congress to make good on its bipartisan agreement to reauthorize this legislation and let services continue uninterrupted.

Keep Medicare affordable

Nobody should go without health care they need because of costs. The Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) helps older adults with low incomes afford Medicare expenses. Its funding expires on Dec. 31, and millions of people would lose personalized help to enroll in benefits.

Congress has extended MIPPA with bipartisan support 12 times before. Tell them to do so again.

Time is running out. Act now!

We know it's a busy time of year. Our online forms only take a minute to complete and send a message right to your members of Congress. There is broad bipartisan support for OAA and MIPPA , we just need Congress to make sure they are included in the final package to fund the government.
Older adults can't afford to guess whether the services they depend on will continue. Send messages now and help push OAA [[link removed]] and MIPPA [[link removed]] across the finish line!

Sincerely,
The NCOA Team
