Dear friends,
As the year draws to a close and we gather with our loved ones, we cannot forget those who have been silenced — journalists who have gone missing in their pursuit of reliable information. 95 of them, in 34 countries, are missing today, leaving behind families searching for answers and communities deprived of critical voices.
Most of the time, these cases of missing journalists are due to authoritarian regimes or negligent states as in the case of Mexico, where over 30% of these cases are concentrated.
At Reporters Without Borders (RSF), we are committed to ensuring that these journalists are not forgotten. Through relentless investigation, advocacy, and legal action, we strive to find missing journalists and to hold those responsible accountable.
