Tell Your Senator to Stop H.R. 82
The Senate will take a vote today on a bill that could significantly reduce or eliminate the pensions and social security of hard-working Americans. The Social Security Fairness Act (H.R. 82) would reduce benefits to people who receive pensions from jobs that did not pay into Social Security, hurting millions of Americans.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that this will cost Americans $190 billion over the next 10 years. They are also predicting that Social Security funds could be exhausted half a year earlier if this bill were to pass into law.
The House has already passed H.R. 82, so if this bill passes the Senate, President Biden will sign it into law. You must act quickly! If you are able, please call the Senate Switchboard at 202-224-3121 or send an email IMMEDIATELY!
Contact your Senators today and ask them to vote "NO" on H.R. 82, the Social Security Fairness Act.
