Our impact in 2024

From poverty and inpatient services, to school absence and mental health in later life, we’ve explored a huge breadth of topics in our research this year. We published groundbreaking economic analysis which found that mental ill health costs England £300bn every year. Through our networks, we’ve worked with passionate local champions nationwide to improve mental health in communities.

As we head into a new year, our mission to build a mentally healthier nation remains just as urgent. Help us continue the fight to end mental health injustice by donating today.

Wishing you a peaceful festive season,

Andy

Exploring our impact in numbers

Supporting better mental health in communities nationwide

This year, we equipped over 300 people in local councils and health systems to support better mental health in their communities. Our world-class IPS training has been helping to support many more people with mental health or substance use problems into paid work which supports their recovery. And through our wide-ranging blogs and podcast series, we’ve been providing a platform for people with lived experience and radical thinkers to make their voices heard.

Carving a path to a mentally healthier future

In 2024, our research has shone a light on mental health injustice and shown how we can build a mentally healthier nation. Through our Changemakers programme, we supported young people taking action to tackle racial injustice and its impact on mental health. And 70 organisations supported our campaign to get mental health higher on the agenda at the General Election, resulting in parties across the spectrum committing to implementing policies that will improve the nation’s mental health.

Our work has been carving a path to a mentally healthier future. But we need your support to keep that going in 2025.

Donate today to help us bring an end to mental health injustice.

Wishing you a peaceful festive period, from everyone at Centre for Mental Health.
