John, Texas is in its second phase of reopening the economy. But the TX GOP is still ignoring science-based facts and the advice of healthcare professionals to contain the outbreak. Not even a few weeks ago, Texas ranked 49th in COVID-19 testing. Worst of all, Governor Abbott is misinforming the public about the number of recoveries in the state -- using it as an indicator of why Texas is doing fine during the pandemic. This is a flat lie. Instead of prioritizing the public’s health and scientific facts, the Texas GOP chooses to keep their special interest pals happy and ease coronavirus restrictions.
