Friend --

As we said in our last message to you, we know that lots of us are facing challenges and have concerns about the year ahead. But there are resources available and easy steps we can take to get ready – build up our savings, get our kids the shots they need to stay healthy, make a plan for making sure the roof doesn’t leak and the car won’t break down. The more safe and secure we are now in our family’s health, finances, and homes, the more ready we’ll all be to work together for the change we need.

Today, we’re sharing with you some tools on making our homes safer and prepared for natural disasters and other emergencies.

Our end-of-year guide includes help like:

  • Online tools so you can make a family emergency preparedness plan.

  • Tips on how you can make your home safer from fires and ready for the winter.

  • Links to government programs that can help pay your heating bill.

If you missed our last email, be sure to also check out Working America’s End of Year Guide for Family Budgeting for tools and tips on managing your money. We’ll also be sharing other guides in the weeks ahead. And you can always find all of our guides to navigating the economy at www.workingamerica.org/gethelp
