Race + Power Weekly

Since the 2024 elections, the urgency of confronting systemic inequities couldn’t be more important. In today’s Race + Power newsletter, we underline the power of local organizing and coalition building to dismantle harmful entrenched narratives. First, the election revealed the continued primacy of Whiteness in US society. Progressive leaders must work to dismantle the myths that sustain Whiteness over justice. Next, held soon after the presidential election, Facing Race—the largest multiracial, multigenerational conference in the country—emphasized local organizing and building coalitions to uplift racial justice. Then, as the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) rises, so, too, do the risks of perpetuating historical injustice and harming marginalized communities. Nonprofit leaders play a vital role in transforming AI into a tool for justice and empowerment. Finally, we want to hear from you about the way forward. We’re inviting nonprofit workers to share their experiences in a paid focus group to help us better serve the sector.

Calling All Nonprofit Workers!

NPQ is conducting focus groups to learn more about how and why the sector engages with our content. Our guiding questions are: How can we better resource nonprofit professionals? What does engagement and community building look like for the sector? And what are new or different ways NPQ can show up? We are seeking participants who are both familiar and unfamiliar with NPQ. This paid, one-hour focus group will take place in January 2025. Learn more...
