Dear friends, colleagues, and partners,

Warm greetings from the UN SDG Action Campaign ([link removed]) .

I am writing to you as we turn the page on yet another challenging year. It is no secret that 2024 has been a year of intensifying climate crises, rising inequalities and ongoing conflicts. The obstacles we face can often feel overwhelming. Yet, even in the midst of these profound challenges, we have witnessed the remarkable resilience of people and our planet, the unwavering power of hope, and the boundless creativity of humankind.

At the heart of our work this year was a deep belief in the power of dialogue and meaningful engagement. We proudly supported the participation of the civil society and youth across pivotal decision-making processes such as the Summit of the Future ([link removed]) , the G20 and the G7 ([link removed]) . The Campaign also joined forces with UN partners to champion key policy priorities ([link removed]) such as the human rights economy, the reform of the international financial architecture (IFA), fairer debt and taxation mechanisms, climate action and gender equality. Our advocacy has highlighted the need to work together across geographies and sectors towards a more accountable, just, and inclusive multilateral system that serves people and the planet. This spirit of collaboration and action also fueled the 2024
edition of the UN SDG Action Awards ([link removed]) , testament to the power of art, resilience and determination to envision and build a more inclusive, sustainable and peaceful world for all. As we always say: what we can imagine, we can achieve.

I still get goosebumps remembering the inspiring stories of our Finalists and Winners ([link removed]) as well as the esteemed Judges ([link removed]) . It was remarkable to celebrate the 2024 UN SDG Action Awards ([link removed]) in Rome which reached 66 million people globally, with over 17,000 individuals watching the Ceremony live. If you missed the event, I warmly invite you to watch it here ([link removed]) . Art has been a constant source of inspiration throughout our journey this year. We harnessed creativity to transform complex, overwhelming challenges into compelling narratives of hope and possibilities, also through the HOPE IN ACTION Art Exhibition ([link removed]) that traveled across the world.

Lastly but most importantly, let me use this message to thank all our partners for making our work possible. Thank you for your unwavering support, tireless efforts, and inspiring vision for a better tomorrow.

Now please take a moment to watch this short 2024 UN SDG Action Campaign highlights video as we prepare for 2025 – a year that may bring peace, justice and equality to all of us.
