Dear John,
We’re excited to share Vote Mama Foundation’s latest updates to round out the year. Our research continued to make waves, Campaign Funds for Childcare was authorized in new states across the country, and we are capping off the year with a record-breaking fundraising result thanks to a generous GivingTuesday match by Melinda French Gates’ organization, Pivotal.
Here’s a look at how we finished the year:
|
Campaign Funds for Childcare Update:
Vote Mama Foundation is the only organization tracking the authorization and usage of Campaign Funds for Childcare (CFCC). Since November, CFCC has been approved in Arizona, Massachusetts, and Michigan, bringing the total number of states allowing this resource to 38 plus Washington, D.C.

Vote Mama in the News:
Read more about how CFCC became authorized in the state of Massachusetts, ensuring more parents and caregivers can run for office. The Boston Globe cited our research, showing that 68 federal candidates have used CFCC since 2018. Read the full story here!

As we look into the future and legislative sessions begin in 2025, more states like Florida are considering authorizing CFCC. A bill filed in the Florida Legislature describes usage as follows: “Campaign funds wouldn’t be able to be used to defray the candidate’s or their family’s normal living expenditures. The money also couldn’t go toward child care expenses unrelated to campaign activities like personal errands or ‘routine child care unrelated to campaigning.’” Read more from Florida Politics here!

GivingTuesday:
This GivingTuesday, Melinda French Gates announced live on Good Morning America and in an exclusive feature in The Associated Press that her organization, Pivotal, would match up to $500,000 in individual donations to Vote Mama Foundation. This transformative opportunity not only allowed us to achieve a record-breaking fundraising result for Vote Mama Foundation this year but also exponentially grew our community by garnering grassroots support from roughly 700 donations in less than two weeks. We are so grateful for Pivotal’s support of our mission to build a country where moms lead.

On our radar:
The impactful work of Vote Mama Foundation is made possible by the support of friends like you.
Thank you for being a part of our movement!
