In response to the dramatic rise in anti-LGBTQ hate, we recently launched the ALERT Desk to track anti-LGBTQ hate and extremism and provide an accurate go-to resource for journalists reporting on hate and violence against the LGBTQ community. We must ensure the media doesn't let these issues and incidents fall by the wayside

Social Media Safety Program
|
|
We've expanded the scope of our work to empower our staff to work directly with social media companies. As a result, nearly a dozen new policies were adopted to protect LGBTQ users this past year, including policies prohibiting the promotion of so-called "conversion therapy."

Our News & Rapid Response Team
|
|
We briefed 51 newsrooms in 2024 and trained approximately 1,000 journalists to accurately report on LGBTQ issues during a critical election year when misinformation ran rampant.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We're ready to expand all of these programs in 2025, along with initiatives like the GLAAD List, the Black Queer Creative Summit, Equity in Entertainment Initiative, and more that are addressing the problem of declining queer representation in entertainment by finding and connecting new talent with opportunities in the industry. These initiatives will increase representation for all marginalized communities, including the trans, Black, POC, and HIV+ communities.
