Madison, WI – The Board of Commissioners of Public Lands (BCPL), chaired by Secretary Godlewski, will announce on Thursday a record $70 million to be disbursed to public schools across Wisconsin through the Common School Fund.
The 2025 distribution breaks the fund's previous record and will be used by librarians and media specialists to expand opportunities and address the digital divide for students by purchasing new books, technology, and educational materials.
The Common School Fund (CSF) provides crucial support for Wisconsin’s public school libraries. For over 90% of public school libraries the CSF is the sole source of funding. Under Secretary Godlewski’s leadership as Chair of the BCPL, the fund actively diversified millions of dollars and invested in Wisconsin communities, which is already paying off with consistent record-breaking distributions from the fund for public schools.
