John,

Pesticide giants are busy pushing what they hope will be the next
glyphosate, quietly drenching wheat and oat crops across Europe and Canada
with chlormequat – their latest poison.

It’s all over our cereal, bread, and pasta…despite terrifying studies that
show it's harmful to animals and stays in the environment for a very long
time. But we have a rare chance to get chlormequat banned in the EU. And
we’re going to take it.

Experts tell us that it’s highly likely the EU licensing process for this
poison violates regulations. So we’re going to work with partners,
reviewing every single detail of the process, to PROVE this poison should
never have been licensed in the first place. Then publish a report
exposing the truth and launch a major PR campaign to prevent the EU from
relicensing chlormequat.

We’ve been working for months to stop this poison from becoming the next
glyphosate – and now we have a clear way to do it. Can you chip in to
help?

An explosive U.S. study found that 80% of people tested had traces of
chlormequat in their urine. And what’s even more wild is that this nasty
pesticide was not even approved for use in foods grown in the US! But it's
found in many breakfast foods like Cheerios and Quaker Oats thanks to
imported wheat…and so it’s ending up in our bodies.

Scarier still, we don’t even know how it’s impacting the public in Europe
and Canada, where the chemical is commonly used for large-scale wheat
production. But we do know that even small amounts of the pesticide have
been linked to infertility and other health issues in animals.

It’s been years now since chlormequat went through the EU licensing
process – and a lot has changed. When pesticide licensing processes like
this have been carefully reviewed before, violations have been found. Now
all we have to do is show that the EU licensing process for chlormequat
didn’t follow regulations. And once we’ve exposed the truth, we can launch
a massive grassroots campaign to stop decision makers from relicensing
this poison.

This is our best shot at stopping chlormequat from becoming the next
glyphosate – but we need your help to do it and keep fighting to ban
toxins like this everywhere. Can you chip in now?

Your donation will help power Ekō and our campaigns worldwide fighting for
people and the planet.

This community has been crucial in the fight to protect the public from
poisonous pesticides. Together we’ve won major regulations and bans,
reigning in the use of toxic pesticides and held corporations accountable
for selling poisonous products. Now let’s do it again.

Thanks for all that you do,
Allison and the Ekō team
