Coming to you with a moment of complete honesty: Our tank is running low.
VoteVets spent extensively over the course of the last two years to fight back against Trump and the MAGA Right. In just the final months of the campaign we spent over $10 million, and the total amount across the campaign is millions and millions of dollars higher.
That might not sound like much when you think about Elon Musk putting up hundreds of millions against us, or the billions total spent in the presidential race.
But our focus is much more tactical. We spent against Trump, sure — but we’re just one organization in a much larger pool in that race. Where our efforts are most effective is down ballot: state legislatures, the U.S. House, the Senate.
And in the final tally, we had a hell of an impact. With Derek Tran’s victory over Michelle Steel, VoteVets had 243 wins this cycle. We’d measure that record against anyone... and suspect that very few (if any) can match it.
But after all that, we’ve drawn down our resources considerably. And as we approach the end of the year, it’s essential that we replenish our warchest. We all know what’s coming in January, and for VoteVets to enter 2025 in fighting shape we need to finish the year strong.
So, before the holidays and before everyone takes some down-time, we’re coming to you for help:
