The Republican Establishment is a character out of a horror movie. Zombies. Vampires. Werewolves. No matter how many times voters reject them, they keep coming back. And just like in Hollywood, every new sequel is worse than the last.
Donald Trump — the Establishment’s nemesis — won the most decisive national Republican victory in a generation. He is now putting together the most exciting conservative administration in memory.
And corporate Republicans have spent the weeks since undermining the president-elect and his mandate at every turn.
Outgoing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is all over the news, cheerleading for forever wars. He’s even conspiring to create permanently funded foreign aid programs to prevent President Trump from ever putting America First.
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) is sniping at President Trump’s cabinet picks. He went on national television and whined about Americans calling Senators to urge them to confirm the appointees. As President Trump recently said, “If they’re opposing somebody for political reasons or stupid reasons, I would say … they probably would be primaried.”
And now, just days before a new Congress is going to be sworn in — a month before President Trump takes the oath of office — Republican leaders have sold us out again. They negotiated a 1,500-page, multi-trillion-dollar spending bill that no lawmaker will read before voting.
We know it includes Democrat priorities. We know it funds Deep State waste, fraud, and abuse. We know it will tie President Trump’s hands. Congress is even giving itself a 40% pay raise in the bill!

Does anyone realize there was an election just a few weeks ago? This is exactly the kind of Beltway corruption Americans voted against! Yet here we are, watching the same horror sequel all over again.
We have to learn this lesson:
The Republican Establishment will never stop. In the majority or the minority, in or out of power. They didn’t during Trump’s first term. They won’t stop in the next term.
Unless grassroots conservatives stop them.
