In the dead of night on November 21, a group of students linked to Sarah Lawrence College’s (SLC) Divestment Coalition stormed Westlands, the school’s main administrative building, and announced their occupation through social media.

NAS Applauds the Passage of HR 5349, the Crucial Communism Teaching Act 

HR 5349 is a step in the right direction. The bill will ensure that students know about the tyrannical nature of Communist thought, the blood-stained history of Communist regimes, and the influence of Communist ideology on American politics.

NAS Welcomes Reintroduction of Ohio SB 83 

SB 83 will do an extraordinary amount to depoliticize Ohio’s public higher education system, strengthen intellectual diversity, and restore its accountability to Ohio policymakers and citizens. 

Censorship in the Sciences: Interdisciplinary Perspectives Conference

This conference brings together experts (both within and outside academia) to address a series of contentious issues about scientific censorship. When, if ever, does rejection of manuscripts for publication or grants for funding constitute censorship? How much of a role, if any, should ethical/moral issues play in deciding which scientific ideas to disseminate? To learn more and register, click here.
