Dear Friend –
This week, our lawmakers failed to pass the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA).
The bill had unprecedented bipartisan support. It was a historic opportunity for our elected officials to protect young people from the harms of social media that puts their very lives at risk. [1] Instead, they sided with the Big Tech monopolies that profit off our kids’ exploitation.
But this fight doesn’t end here. We’ll use this failure as our fuel to ensure Big Tech is finally held to account for the suffering they’ve caused and the harms they continue to inflict upon us. But in order to do that, we need your help. Bolster our fight to demand protections against Big Tech's toxic business model:

This outcome flies in the face of the parents and young people who testified before Congress, shared their personal stories of harm and heartbreak with lawmakers, and rallied at the Capitol, and to the supporters like you who emailed and called your representatives demanding they pass KOSA to protect our youth.
But we’re not in the business of giving up when things get tough. KOSA may come back next year, but we don’t know what it will look like with a new Congress and administration in power. What matters is passing meaningful legislation that will make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Together, we’ll continue to amplify the voices of young activists, parents, teachers and medical professionals urging Congress to act. When we work together, we have the power to send a clear message to Congress: It’s past time we ensure a safer, healthier future for all children online.
Thanks for being with us.
In solidarity,
