As we close the books on 2024, I wanted to share some reflections on this year and our path forward.
This year, the Pennsylvania State House showed what’s possible when Democrats lead with a unified vision for all Pennsylvanians. We passed 428 bills this cycle and made huge strides for our Commonwealth: securing historic funding for our public schools, increasing support for first responders, increasing tax credits for working families, and more! Our Democratic State House is paving the path forward for progress in Pennsylvania.
Thanks to grassroots supporters like you, we were able to defend our razor-thin majority. I was — and continue to be — so honored to serve our Commonwealth as the first woman Speaker of the Pennsylvania State House. Breaking this glass ceiling was long overdue.
All that we have achieved is a testament to our organizing efforts, our community building, and our values. We have an uphill battle ahead of us, but I, along with my Democratic colleagues, remain committed to delivering for Pennsylvanians and protecting our Commonwealth from MAGA extremism.
Joanna McClinton serves as the Speaker of the Pennsylvania State House, while proudly serving the 191st district.
Joanna has made important strides to enact progress in the Pennsylvania Legislature. From working to protect the rights of those accused in our criminal justice system to spearheading the fight to expand our voting rights, she has proven that she will always prioritize the prosperity of Pennsylvanians over the promise of power.
