This year, we've reached new heights in advocacy. With help from our dedicated community of advocates, we’ve been able to: - Make our voices heard by rallying our Community to set up meetings, write letters, make calls and send emails to policymakers, contributing to the Biden Administration’s proposed rule to expand access to obesity medications for Medicare and Medicaid recipients.
- Propel the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA) further than it’s been in over a decade, bringing us closer to ensuring access to obesity care for millions.
- Engage in vital conversations with policymakers, including members of Congress, FDA officials, CMS and other influential stakeholders, fighting for affordability and access to life-changing obesity treatments.
- Reintroduce large-scale in-person advocacy efforts through Advocacy Days, rallying voices on Capitol Hill and state legislatures, and having the conversations that matter to our Community.
And the results? A growing recognition from policymakers that obesity is a disease—and those affected deserve access to comprehensive care. We've seen the progress we’ve worked over a decade to achieve, but there’s so much more work to be done. | |
