Friend,
You know that rapid global population growth is a monumental problem. It’s unsustainable and worsens every other problem we face, whether it’s climate change, deforestation, biodiversity loss, water scarcity … the list goes on.
But just because the problem is huge, doesn’t mean we can overlook the small, simple steps to tackle it.
Did you know that girls who attend school are more likely to delay marriage and childbearing? Girls’ education and access to family planning options truly go hand-in-hand. These seemingly small solutions have an outsized impact on people’s lives and our world.
That’s one reason why we have been so fortunate to partner with organizations focused on removing barriers to girls’ education. One of these is Girl Up Initiative Uganda.
Girl Up was founded in 2012 in Kampala, Uganda, by Monica Nyiraguhabwa and Kimberly Wolf. Girls and young women living in slum communities in Kampala have a vast unmet need for educational opportunities. Girl Up was created to help expand girls’ access to education and participation in the economy in Kampala and throughout Uganda.
Girl Up’s flagship program, the Adolescent Girls Program, engages girls ages 9-15 in 30 partner schools all over Uganda. Girls who participate acquire life and leadership skills and age-appropriate sexual and reproductive health education.
This program takes place during the academic year, helping girls build self-confidence and learn how to assert their rights in regard to their bodies, education, and futures. To date, nearly 8,000 girls have “graduated” from this innovative program, which represents just one initiative that this amazing organization offers.
We are proud to call Girl Up Initiative Uganda a partner in our fight for global population stabilization— along with 18 other Global Partners that YOUR gift of $35.00 will help support today. [[link removed]]
As someone concerned about global population stabilization, I hope you’ll consider joining us in supporting our Global Partners in 2025. Thanks to a very generous donor, your gift of $35.00 will be DOUBLED, up to $250,000, through December 31 st ! [[link removed]]
And, most importantly, your gift will directly affect the communities served by these organizations. With your help, we can continue working toward global population stabilization—through a diversity of efforts ranging from education and advocacy in the U.S. to financial support for organizations that provide direct health services overseas. As we change the trajectories of girls’ lives, so too can we change the trajectory of global population growth.
Thank you for sharing our vision of a planet and people in balance. We appreciate your ongoing support of our mission!
