Together, they preserve and actively steward over 119 waves and 136 miles of coastline.
Each one represents a totally unique surf ecosystem worth protecting.
Our World Surfing Reserves are home to perfect point breaks, heavy water big wave spots, hollow beach breaks, and knee-high peelers.
They contain mangroves, vital watersheds, kelp forests, tropical jungles, sand dunes, lagoons, and rocky cliffs.
Some are home to migratory humpbacks, endangered sea turtles, koalas, monkeys, sea otters, sharks, and birds ranging from pelicans to parrots.
