I wish you could have been with Lucia and me this week to witness the profound impact your incredible generosity has made in the life of Eva Edl. Eva, the brave Yugoslavian death camp survivor who now stands resolutely for the unborn, welcomed us into her home nestled among the pine forests of South Carolina.
Her home radiated simplicity and peace. Candles in each of her forward-facing windows and a wreath on her front door greeted us warmly, while inside, a single Christmas cactus in full bloom adorned her enclosed patio. Eva shared with us that she had gifted her big Christmas tree to her granddaughter this year—a small gesture that speaks volumes about her generous spirit.
Artifacts from a life filled with faith and family covered her walls and tables: photos of her children and grandchildren and, most moving of all, the last family portrait taken the day before her husband began chemo treatments over 35 years ago. Eva’s home was a reflection of her steadfast love, sacrifice, and trust in God.
Over strong coffee and dark chocolate, Eva opened her heart to us. She shared more of her incredible journey and her devotion to defending the unborn. And we shared with her the love and support of the CitizenGO family—a family that you are an irreplaceable part of.
When we presented her with the $10,000 check raised through your generosity, her knees went weak, and tears began to flow. Her words were a prayer:
“Oh Lord, how many years do I still have left to use all this? He knows.”
She paused, her eyes shining with faith, and continued with a message for us:
“In Isaiah chapter 65, before they call, he will answer. This is before I even call.” She pointed to the check, adding, “He has answered. I don’t know what he wants, but he’s already given, and I won’t have to worry about it every month. Praise the Lord!”
Eva’s gratitude was heartfelt and overwhelming. This gift isn’t just financial support; it’s a tangible reminder that she isn’t alone in this fight. Despite the immense challenges she faces—including ongoing legal battles under the unjust FACE Act—Eva remains steadfast in her mission, strengthened by the prayers and generosity of people like you.
As the holidays approach, Eva’s courage and faith stand as a powerful example of the resilience and hope that comes from trusting in God’s plan.
This Christmas season, I ask you to continue lifting Eva in prayer. Pray for her strength, her legal battles, and her unwavering commitment to protect the unborn. Together, we are making a difference—not just in Eva’s life but in the lives of countless children who rely on our voice.
Thank you for being part of this life-affirming mission. Your generosity is a beacon of hope and a testimony to the power of a community rooted in faith and love.
May you and your family have a blessed Christmas filled with joy and peace.
