The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) announces the availability of "OJJDP News @ a Glance," December 2024. [ [link removed] ]
One feature story underscores OJJDP’s commitment to keeping youth out of adult correctional facilities, an outcome at the heart of one of the Office’s key priorities. The other feature highlights the San Francisco Family Treatment Court’s emphasis on family-centered programming, an approach designed to promote safe family reunification.
In “From the Administrator’s Desk,” Administrator Liz Ryan reflects on the success of the 2024 National Conference on Youth Justice. “Youth Voices” chronicles the journey of Shimaine Holley from a childhood filled with trauma and chaos to her launching an organization devoted to enhancing the well-being of children and families. Another story focuses on Georgia’s use of Title II Formula Grant funding to support juvenile court programs aimed at reducing reoffending by system-involved youth and decreasing the number of out-of-home placements.
