Home is where we find safety, security, and the opportunity to thrive. Without it, everything else becomes more difficult. But what happens to a community when housing becomes out of reach?

Every week, nearly 19,000 individuals across our communities are forced into homelessness for the first time due to rising rents and living costs. They are your neighbors who have lost their job and can’t afford rent; a friend battling health issues who falls behind; or a parent struggling to make ends meet. These are families and individuals who are experiencing the loss of having a safe place to call home. Many people are facing the very real fear of being a paycheck away from losing their home. Your support can provide the stability people need to thrive.

While our homelessness system successfully rehouses many, it cannot keep up with the increasing demand for housing and services. We are facing an affordable housing crisis, leading to more people living unsheltered outdoors or in their car. With the winter season ahead of us, the need for safe housing is more critical than ever.

With your help, we can push for effective policies and advance federal funding to meet this growing demand and ensure everyone has a home.

We know this approach works. We’ve seen its success for veterans, whose homelessness numbers were cut in half after our work advanced efforts to prioritize affordable housing with the services that veterans wanted and needed.

We are making sure that policy makers adopt short-term strategies like outreach and health services, while also focusing on creating long-term solutions to end homelessness and prevent it from happening in the first place.

We educate lawmakers and secure vital funding for programs that make a difference: including an increased annual federal funding for the largest homelessness program by over 11% this year – a nearly half a billion-dollar increase.

Your contribution not only helps individuals find homes but also strengthens our collective efforts to create lasting change. Thank you for being part of this critical work.

Together, we can create stronger, healthier communities for everyone.
