Hi john,
We wish December could be a time to slow down and rest up to fend off anti-abortion attacks in the new year, but turns out evil never rests and neither does the fight to defeat it! It can be difficult to keep up with all of the fuckery in court and beyond, but we’re here to keep you up-to-date and up-to-enraged; stick with us, friend, because we’ve got your back.
Who Needs Law And Order Reruns When There Are So Many “Special Victims” In The Anti-Abortion Movement?
Ida-Hoes Before Embryos, Got It?? The federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) is back in the courts as Idaho fights to lift an injunction preventing them from… letting someone die rather than give them an abortion if it will save their life [[link removed]] ?? We wish we made that up, but Idaho officials would rather sacrifice pregnant people to their ideology than listen to actual medical professionals who claim the ban creates uncertainty, potentially delaying critical emergency care. Why listen to medical professionals who went to medical school when you can listen to politicians who have, idk, probably at least heard of a medical school at some point in their lives? Tomato, tomahtoe. A still image from 'The Sopranos' featuring Tony Soprano sitting at a dinner table looking dejected. Overlay text in bold yellow reads, 'US WATCHING IDAHO ARGUE FOR LETTING PREGNANT PEOPLE DIE AGAIN.' A logo in the bottom-right corner displays the letters 'AF.' [[link removed]]
A screenshot of a news article headline from 'Courthouse News Service.' The headline reads, 'Abortion reversal provider pushes back on donor subpoena at Third Circuit.' Below the headline, there is a subheading that reads, 'A pro-life group that touts a controversial “abortion reversal” method as a miracle cure made its case to the appeals court against New Jersey’s request for donor information.' An image underneath shows a close-up of a person performing an ultrasound scan on a patient. [[link removed]] New Jersey: Bitch Better Have Their Donor Lists
And in New Jersey, a super “special victim” AKA a sketchy fake clinic is under a consumer safety investigation for pushing the medically-dubious "Abortion Pill Reversal" [[link removed]] , arguing that it shouldn't have to release their donor lists. Why, you ask? Because it might betray their donors' confidence and discourage future donations. Nevermind that the list would only be reviewed by the court and not publicly released – how ever will they bring in more money to push bad science and mislead abortion seekers? That’s the REAL problem here!
We’ll Tell You Where to Stick That Data…
Here’s a fun one: Fog Data Science, a location tracking company, offered law enforcement agencies access to smartphone-derived location data [[link removed]] to assist in tracking individuals, including addresses of doctors' offices they may visit. In our post-Roe world where 14 states have made abortion illegal, this invasion of privacy has frightening implications for abortion criminalization, particularly for already vulnerable groups of people, and the inherent danger if the data is misused or falls into the wrong anti-abortion hands. Horrible schemes by horrible people are totally normal – nothing to see here.
HOW YOU CAN FIGHT BACK!
If they’re gonna track us, let’s make them work for it! Check out our Activist Calendar below to find all the different ways to get in the fight!

SOMETHING TO DO RIGHT NOW
BONUS ACTION ITEM!
Michigan is actually doing something about making sure we get justice for SA survivors with the Justice for Survivors package , a series of bills aimed at protecting and supporting sexual assault survivors. The package expands the statute of limitations, includes a revival statute for folks who missed their window to seek justice, and a Survivor’s Bill of Rights. THERE IS ACTION YOU CAN TAKE TO HELP GET IT PASSED! AAF’s own Emily Bice is spearheading an email campaign to make sure our voices are heard. Whether or not you’re from Michigan, you can email state reps and senators to let them know that this bill matters and should be voted on ASAP! She’s put together copy and paste email templates for you to get started and get emailing! It’ll take less than five minutes – find the templates here and help make change! [[link removed]]
