I’m a part of Advocates for Youth’s Abortion Out Loud, a program for young activists who are committed to protecting abortion access even in these dangerous times. . Yes - it’s a rough time to do this work. But there are still fights to be won, and it’s a victory every time anyone gets the abortion care they need.

Advocates is a huge support to me in my work to expand abortion access on my campus. Advocates gave me the skills to support my fellow students who need abortion care, including making medication abortion accessible on my college campus and through sharing information about self-managed abortion (SMA).

I’ve attended the Youth Activist Institute at Advocates for the past two years, and there I learned the power of collaboration and finding strategic partners in the fight for access. Advocates supported me in coordinating the first convening of organizations and people who support abortion access on my campus, where activists left with tools to expand access and support people who need abortions. I’m inspired to know that we can build a movement regardless of the political environment.
