Message From Ted

Dear VCC Community,

I’ve been reading the newly released book – Canary in a (Post) COVID World (Vol 2) . It is a collection of essays from 37 contemporary thought leaders including notable Canadians - Dr. Julie Ponesse, Dr. Byram Bridle, Dr. Charles Hoffe, Dr. Sam Dube, Dr. Roger Hodkinson, Tamara Lich, Shawn Buckley, Jason Christoff, and Dr. Regina Watteel.

Dr. Julie Ponesse’s essay – Our Last Innocent Moment is especially powerful. She writes: “Do you remember where you were when it happened? When your friends seemed a little less familiar, family a little more distant. When your trust in our highest institutions – government, medicine, law, journalism – started to unravel.”

I remember those moments clearly. When a family member justified the discrimination against the unvaccinated with – “You had a choice.” When a friend said “I can’t go there with you. I follow the science.” And another friend espoused that the only person who can save us is Bill Gates.

Ponesse writes: “There is no doubt that the government response to COVID-19 is the largest public health disaster in modern history.” She then asks a number of critical questions – “ Why is it that so few fought back?” “Why were pregnant women so willing to experiment on their unborn children?” and “Why do we need to keep learning these lessons time and time again?”

Ponesse concludes: “The lessons of the Enlightenment, the 17th century intellectual movement that asserted the natural and inalienable rights to life, liberty, property, personal autonomy and the capacity for choice didn’t stick.” “We are in desperate need of a 21st century Enlightenment, a renaissance of informed consent and personal choice.”

While there were moments over the last five years when each of us experienced the sudden loss of family and friends, I suspect that those of us with Vaccine Choice Canada lost our innocence a long time ago. We saw the failure of the medical profession to protect our children from the harms of vaccination. We experienced the unwillingness of media to investigate the corruption within governments and the corporate capture of agencies. We have been desperately trying to awaken our fellow man to this tyranny for decades.

What I know is this. If there is to be a renaissance of enlightenment, and I believe there will be, those of us who have been in this battle for years will be the ones to lead the way. We are the Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison and Ben Franklin of our time. We are the ones who stand on a moral foundation and are willing to sacrifice our comfort and status to defend our rights and freedoms. 

Know that your sacrifices and battle scars are not in vain. I believe we are destined for a new renaissance because of you.

VCC'S FALL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

I’m delighted to share with all of you the results of our Fall Fundraising Campaign. It was my desire to reach $25,000 in donations to make full use of the generousity of Laura and Rick Hayes who offered to match donations dollar for dollar to a maximum of $25,000. As of Sunday, the results of our campaign are the following:

      213 donations 

        ◦ 192 One time donations = $22,499

        ◦ 18 Yearly donations = $1,171

        ◦ 3 Monthly donations = $540 / year

Total donations = $24,210

What I am even more thrilled with is that 83 donations came from new supporters to VCC since Nov 2. This tells me that we are reaching new families.

Thank you all for your generosity. I’m excited of what more we can do with your support in 2025.

Pregnancy and Vaccination

Vaccine Choice Canada is pleased to announce that our new mini-book on Pregnancy and Vaccination will be available shortly. The book examines the seven vaccines that Health Canada currently recommends for pregnant women - influenza, COVID-19, pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, Hep B, and RSV. It also raises awareness of the impact of the common use of Vitamin K injections, fluoride, and the risks of hospital births vs. home births.

Our goal is to help expecting parents to begin their parenting with an appreciation of the importance of doing their due diligence and making an informed decision to ensure the health of their baby.

Enlightened Self Interest

The following story comes from author Victor Chan. The setting for this story is the Indian city of Bodhgaya. Located within Bodhgaya is the sacred Mahabodhi Temple. The Dalai Lama regularly participates in a ritual at the temple to honour and acknowledge the wisdom and teachings of the Buddha.

During one such occasion the Dalai Lama approaches a large group of Tibetans. In the group is a young man. Although the man’s eyes are open the Dalai Lama correctly surmises the man is blind. The young man’s optical nerves were badly damaged in a fall and he has been told he will never see again.

While on his journey to India to see the Dalai Lama, the young man stayed in various camps along the way. One of the fellow travelers who shared the same tent was a young Tibetan monk. After only a few days of companionship with the blind man the young monk decides to donate his eyes to the blind man. The donation of one’s eyes by a living person is unheard of. Yet this is the gift the young monk offered the blind man.

The blind man thought long and hard about the monk’s offer. He was tremendously moved by the generosity of the monk. In the end he refused the monk’s offer. He explained his refusal by saying that he had suffered tremendously over the years because of his blindness and he simply couldn’t bear the thought of another person going through the same challenges and agony he had experienced.

From the outside it could be said that nothing happened - the blind man continued his life as a blind man. And yet something beautiful, intangible and immeasurable happened. A deep expression of compassion was expressed. Hearts were opened. Love was given, received, and returned.

The Dalai Lama says compassion is more than a sense of caring and concern for others. For the Dalai Lama compassion is the source of health and peace of mind. He explains –

“If we think only of ourselves and forget about other people, then our minds occupy a very small area. Inside that small area, even tiny problems appear big. But the moment you develop a sense of concern for others your mind automatically widens. At this point your own problems, even big problems, will not be so significant. The result is an increase in peace of mind.”

The Dalai Lama understands that when we have compassion and are of help to others, we are the first to benefit. He calls this principle “enlightened self interest”.

May we all have enlightened self-interest.
