In exactly two weeks, we have our first major reporting deadline as this race becomes the next significant one of focus in the nation — an opportunity for every other campaign to see how we measure up and where we stand in the larger fight for California’s future.
A strong fundraising report shows that this is a sustainable campaign that will continue to gain momentum as we stand up for the working people of California.
We have accomplished so much together over the years – as a Member of the Board of Equalization and in my two terms as State Controller, our state’s Chief Financial Officer. Together, we showed what a competent, accountable government can do.
But today, where money and special interests are fueling some of our leading politicians, I’m hearing from people across the state that California is more out of balance than ever. The cost of housing, food, college, childcare and elder care — it’s all increasingly out of reach.
Things just aren’t adding up anymore, and we need a different voice to lead California. We just can’t let the 1% and special interests win, and that’s where you come in:
