Among progressive organizations, Our Revolution is one of the core groups working to elect more progressive Attorneys General and District Attorneys. This is extremely important work because these positions have the ability to do tremendous harm to communities of color. Every single election that we get involved in, therefore, has tremendous implications.

Our candidates have run and won in states and cities with some of the widest gaps between the haves and have-nots — cities where a $100 ticket for a minor infraction can ruin a life.

In 2017, we helped elect Larry Krasner as Philadelphia DA. During his tenure as the first unabashedly progressive DA of a major American city, Krasner has reformed sentencing guidelines and eliminated the use of cash bail in most cases.

In addition to our criminal justice work, Our Revolution has expanded our range of electoral engagement by supporting progressive ballot measures across the country. Through the work of our local groups, we have helped shepherd the passage of some of the most progressive legislation in the country.

These have included the passage of minimum wage laws in numerous states and municipalities, from Maine to Kansas City, expanding health coverage in places as diverse as Idaho, Utah, and Oregon, marijuana decriminalization and legalization in a number of states, and democracy reforms like citizen redistricting committees and ranked-choice voting along with the creation of public campaign financing.
