Merry Christmas,
I hope this email finds you well, though I’m writing to you with a heavy heart. As the President of the VDARE Foundation, I feel the weight of these challenging times deeply.
As you may know, this has been an extraordinarily difficult year for the VDARE Foundation. For a quarter-century, VDARE.com has been a beacon for those of us committed to educating the public about the dangers of mass immigration and the erosion of our national identity. Our mission has always been clear: to stand up against the cultural and economic chaos caused by unrestrained immigration, and to offer a platform for voices willing to speak truthfully on this critical issue. But today, I find myself asking for your help more than ever.
Letitia James and the New York Attorney General's office continues to pursue their politically motivated “investigation” against us, and we’ve lost many of the resources on which we once relied. Our savings are depleted, our website is crippled, and, as of now, I am the only remaining member of the VDARE team – working to try and keep our efforts alive. More than two years under her scrutiny and we have still not been charged with anything because we never did anything wrong.
Our staff is gone, and our future is uncertain—but I still have hope. Despite all the obstacles, I believe our mission is as urgent as ever, and your continued support can help us through this.
If there’s one thing this year has taught me, it’s that VDARE.com’s message resonates more now than ever before. In fact, you could almost call the recent U.S. election the “VDARE election.” The Trump administration’s victory was built on the very same arguments we’ve been making for the past 25 years: the dangers of mass immigration, the threat of cultural displacement, and the endless harms of uncontrolled borders.
These ideas were politically incorrect, taboo, and silenced for so long. But now, thanks to the courage of the American people who voted overwhelmingly to defend themselves, these issues have entered the mainstream. Our warnings, which were once dismissed as fringe or extreme, have now become the foundation of national discourse. And for the first time, birthright citizenship – the repeal of which VDARE.com advocated for 25 years – is being discussed by the President and others and a real possibility.
We shouldn’t stop here. We need your help to continue this fight.
And, while the current situation for VDARE is grim, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon, even for us. The upcoming Trump administration has made bold promises to end the era of cancel culture and lawfare that has so deeply impacted groups like ours. I pray that the promised relief truly comes. Until then, we remain in a holding pattern, trying to preserve what we’ve built, with the belief that our work will soon be recognized as the legitimate, defensible and even popular voice of the Historic American Nation.
It’s bittersweet, though, because while our arguments are finally being acknowledged at the highest levels, the price we’ve paid for voicing them has been steep. VDARE.com has been targeted and persecuted for daring to speak the truth when it was most risky. We’ve been subject to legal battles, deplatforming, debanking, and personal harassment—yet we remain steadfast in our commitment to fighting for the future of our nation.
Thanks to one generous 1620 Society member-turned-volunteer, we are now taking steps toward restoring and preserving our archives on VDARE.com—our legacy of articles, research, and analysis that helped shape the national debate on immigration, ensuring that our work won’t be lost forever. This is a small, but significant step toward keeping the VDARE mission alive.
We still have many challenges ahead. The legal bills are mounting, utilities must be paid, and I’m working hard just to keep the foundation alive during this critical time.
Even though VDARE is essentially on “ice” for now, the work we’ve done is far from finished. We need your financial support to keep the lights on, to pay legal fees, and to ensure that our message continues to reach new audiences through social media. We are still aiming to have a conference in 2025 at the Berkeley Springs Castle.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to help us through this trying time. Every contribution, large or small, will help keep VDARE alive and ensure that the critical issues we’ve raised for 25 years continue to be heard.

Lydia Brimelow
