Dear John,

Even in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Tibet’s human rights crisis goes
on.

In fact, there are reports that the Chinese authorities are using this crisis as
a pretext to further restrict Tibetans’ rights.

When you make a special gift today, you’ll help uncover the truth of China’s
actions in Tibet. And you’ll keep the pressure on lawmakers to pass the Tibetan
Policy and Support Act through the full Congress—before time runs out. To say
thanks, we’ll send you a set of Tibetan prayer flags to display proudly as a
symbol of appreciation for Tibetan culture.

China’s repression is a matter of life and death. Tibetan monk Tashi Phutsok
recently died after spending seven years in one of
China’s notorious prisons where torture is common. He’d been falsely accused of
violence, when in reality he was peacefully protesting China’s deforestation of
Tibet.

This kind of injustice happens regularly and in the shadow of coronavirus’ media
attention, it can only get worse. The Tibetan Policy and Support Act—which is
gaining more support in the Senate thanks to Tibet supporters like
you—strengthens support for Tibetans in key areas, such as sanctioning Chinese
officials who violate religious freedom, expanding the mandate of the Special
Coordinator for Tibetan Issues and requiring China to allow a US consulate in
Lhasa if it wants to open a new consulate in the US.

You can help pass this bill and significantly increase US support for Tibet by
making a gift today. And when you get your prayer flags, please hang them
prominently as a sign of your solidarity.

John, thank you for remembering Tibet at this critical
time. Your support is essential to helping ICT continue our work to disclose and
publicize the truth about conditions in Tibet.

Sincerely,

Matteo Mecacci
President

P.S. Tibet is already one of the least free countries in the world, second only
to war-ravaged Syria. When you make a gift today to get your prayer flags, you give Tibetans hope for
a safe and peaceful future.
