Hi John.
I hope you and your family are doing well. I know a lot of people are looking forward to the holidays right now.
So today, I’m pleased to share a quick update on some great bipartisan progress we’re making for hardworking Kansans.
Bipartisan Action to Strengthen Social Security for Public Servants
Kansas teachers, firefighters, police officers, and other public servants have dedicated their lives to serving our communities. They deserve to retire with the full benefits they’ve earned and paid into.
That’s why I was glad to work with Republicans and Democrats to pass the bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act in the House. Click here to learn more about it.
It’s wrong to shortchange our public servants on their hard-earned retirement. They deserve their full Social Security savings.
Our bipartisan bill repeals two outdated rules that unfairly reduce Social Security savings for millions of retirees. It’s the least we can do after everything they’ve done to serve our communities.
I’m pleased to share that our bipartisan bill passed with broad bipartisan support – including 191 Democrats and 136 Republicans. The Social Security Fairness Act is also supported by the National Fraternal Order of Police, International Association of Fire Fighters, and the American Federation of Teachers.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is Making a Difference for Kansans
We recently marked the third anniversary of the bipartisan infrastructure law. This landmark achievement, which I was honored to help pass, continues to make a difference for Kansas – benefitting more than 376 projects across our state.
And now, I recently announced that the law is helping to clean up our lands from dangerous pollution. This new project will protect the health of our families and make new economic development possible.
The bipartisan infrastructure law is modernizing U.S. 69 in Overland Park, expanding K-68 in Louisburg, and replacing lead pipes in Olathe.
New federal support from the law will help Kansas clean up abandoned mine sites. This is about improving living conditions for folks across our state while creating good-paying jobs.
I’m proud to have supported the bipartisan infrastructure law that made this possible and look forward to seeing more investments in Kansas. Kansas families shouldn’t have to worry about the dangers of pollution right outside their front doors.

Bipartisan Action to Protect Kansas Taxpayers
I know good ideas can come from Republicans and Democrats. And one area where I know we can find common ground is eliminating wasteful spending.
That’s why I successfully pushed for a change in a bipartisan bill to save the state of Kansas more than $41 million. Click here to learn more.
This is about providing economic relief for our state and securing a more dependable and affordable water supply.
This measure changes how interest is calculated on two of Kansas’ federal water storage contracts. The 2024 Water Resources and Development Act switches these contracts from compound interest to simple interest. This is a big win for Kansas taxpayers.
The bill also provides more support for Wyandotte County’s water and wastewater infrastructure. I was glad to support this bipartisan legislation alongside Kansas Representative Mann, and Kansas Senators Moran and Marshall.
It’s an incredible honor to serve you and your family in the U.S. House of Representatives. Whether we agree on every issue or not is beside the point.
My job is to serve every person and corner of our community, regardless of party. Everyone deserves a government that works for them – not just for special interests, big corporations, or the extremes of either party.

My warmest regards,
Sharice L. Davids Member of Congress
