Friend, yesterday a student and a teacher were slaughtered, another six people were injured, and the lives of dozens of students and families in Madison, Wisconsin, were irrevocably changed.
Unfortunately, I'm no stranger to the heartbreak and pain caused by shootings like this.
Six years ago, my own daughter, Jaime, was murdered with an assault weapon in the halls of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
In the wake of these tragedies, there is only one thing to do: commit to spending the rest of our lives fighting to prevent the next school shooting from happening.
Thank you for standing with me and the families in Madison, friend.
