Hi John,
Our hearts are heavy today as we grieve alongside the students, staff, families, and the entire community impacted by yesterday’s tragedy at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison. The pain and trauma they are enduring is unimaginable, and it will leave scars that last a lifetime.
The police were first alerted yesterday when a second grader called 911 . It is unacceptable that we are placing this burden on our children and that young children in school are doing more to save lives than the Republicans in our state legislature.
Now is the time for action—and it starts with all of us. In less than three weeks, the new legislative session will begin. Demand that our legislators prioritize gun violence prevention. Wisconsin’s politicians must pass evidence-based laws that we know save lives. We cannot let them off the hook. [[link removed]]
Signing this petition today, though, is just a start. We must maintain the urgency we feel at this moment. That’s why we need you to commit to taking every action we send your way in the coming months. Consistent, collective action from across Wisconsin is what will secure this change.
