Dear John,

The Boundary Waters is more than a Wilderness—it’s a sanctuary for those who seek peace, adventure, and a connection to something greater than themselves. Together, we are united by a shared love for this place and a deep commitment to protect it.

We recently asked our community why they joined the movement to protect the Boundary Waters. Here’s what you told us:

“The Boundary Waters is my most favorite place on earth. It’s a fragile ecosystem and any toxic mining would create serious damage to this beautiful place.”
“I want to see this priceless wilderness last for many generations. I want my daughter to experience this wilderness as I have.”
“It has been a special place to me from my childhood all the way through my adult life. It is a place where the modern pressures of life are left behind, refreshing our souls and worth protecting!”
“We have to protect our wilderness areas because once they are gone, you cannot get them back.”
“I want to be informed of what is happening to this special place and being a part of the movement keeps me educated.”

Your voices tell a powerful story of connection, legacy, and hope. They remind us why this work matters. Together, we’ve made tremendous progress in safeguarding the Boundary Waters from dangerous mining projects and other threats—but the fight is far from over.

Today, I ask you to renew your commitment to the protection of the Boundary Waters. Whether your reason for joining this movement echoes the voices above or is uniquely your own, your dedication strengthens us all.

Please make a gift today —one that reflects your love for the Boundary Waters and your commitment to ensure its future.
