Dear Friends,

This season of light, join us in affirming that your faith “says ‘no’ to torture” by saying “yes” to supporting survivors of solitary confinement with a donation to NRCAT. People in the U.S. who have survived the torture of solitary confinement are lifting their voices daily through NRCAT’s National Network of Solitary Survivors.

The NRCAT National Network of Solitary Survivors has brought together survivors of this torturous practice representing more than 20 states, providing opportunities for skill-building, empowerment, and, most importantly, connection. Our quarterly newsletter and monthly calls reach this community of engaged members that continues to grow.

Just last month, Johnny Perez, the Director of NRCAT’s U.S. Prisons Program, was in Louisiana to support a training for advocates, including solitary survivors, who are engaged in advocacy for legislative change in their state. This month NRCAT helped lead an educational track that centered the voice of solitary survivors at the Gamaliel National Network’s 5th Biennial Race and Power Summit in Detroit (pictured below). In 2024, NRCAT supported similar advocacy trainings with survivors in Virginia, DC, Wisconsin, Michigan, California, Texas and at numerous state and national faith advocacy conferences.

Your financial support makes the education and outreach efforts of our National Network of Solitary Survivors possible. Join us as we continue to break down the barriers of connection that torture survivors face, while also lifting the voice of experience these experts bring to our movement. Donate today and your contribution will be doubled thanks to our generous donors, up to our goal of $30,000, as a part of our Challenge Match Campaign.

Thank you for your support,

Rev. Ron Stief
Executive Director
