At our December 350Fairfax meeting, we discussed what we have been working on for the past 8 years since 350Fairax started, and where we are going.
We brainstormed ideas about what we feel are important environmental issues we should be focusing on in the coming years.
We are a grassroots group, and so our members drive what issues we decide to concentrate on. Please take a minute to look over this list and rank your 4 top issues.
Plastic reduction - ?educating the general public, and advocating at the state and local level for legislation and at the corporate level for meaningful change.
Food - providing education and advocacy around the connection between food and climate, both food choices and food waste.
Education - providing education on environmental issues with more outreach to youth. Providing handouts , speaking at groups etc.
Political engagement - letter writing, climate rallies, joining with other groups, on issues.
Tree Planting efforts and forest preservation through legislation.
Date Centers - advocating for reporting on energy usage.
Fairfax County solid waste plan - get more clarification and keep updated on efforts
