I’m proud to share that my colleagues have unanimously re-elected me as the Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee for the 119th Congress. As the highest-ranking Democrat on the Budget Committee, I’ll keep fighting for the programs that Americans count on — like Social Security and Medicare — and keep working to bring down the cost of living.

The Budget Committee plays a crucial role in shaping our nation’s fiscal policies and determining how we invest in our future. I’ve delivered millions of dollars for Philadelphia in Congress – and I will continue to fight for investments that help grow our economy and make life better for our neighbors. With conservatives in Congress planning to cut critical programs while giving massive tax breaks to billionaires and large corporations, I will fight back against any proposal that puts the burden on working people. Our economy should work for everyone, not just the wealthiest few.

This mission is deeply personal to me. As the son of a janitor and a school crossing guard, I know the challenges working families face. That’s why I’ve always been dedicated to protecting programs that provide financial security, opportunity, and dignity.

As Ranking Member, I’ll continue standing up for the values we share and the programs that strengthen our communities. I will never stop working to lift up working-class people, lower the cost of living, and create a brighter future for all Americans.
