"It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains."

Good morning, everybody - it’s another very busy afternoon in the Metro Atlanta DSA. We definitely wanted to get this note out to you earlier in the day, but I had a little plumbing emergency and your water supply is definitely something you don’t want to mess with as summer starts heating up.
So I want to get right to the week’s business without any pretense:

Nabilah Islam Endorsed By Courage To Change
Speaking of endorsements - our endorsed candidate in GA-07 just got a big one, as Nabilah Islam got a big co-sign from the Courage to Change PAC. We have about 3 weeks left before the election, so there’s absolutely NO reason not to step up to the plate and volunteer to help her across the finish line. This is a voice we can and must put into Congress, and we can only do it when we work together.

Once Again, We Are Asking For Your Financial Support.
If you are able, please consider paying monthly local dues on top of your national DSA dues to support our local mutual aid & organizing work.
You’re helping us inspire, inform, and ACT across this city and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the positive direction that the chapter is moving in, even in the face of this crisis. A part of that is local dues - supporting the chapter outside of paying national helps us in ways that are difficult to even summarize.
We’re thankful for the outpouring of support you’ve shown us, it’s let us be stronger and more active as an organization. Even $5 or $10 a month adds up, it helps us get supplies and tools to stay in touch with each other, aid community organizations on the ground and much more.
If you’re a member you’ve got access to the slack channel - there’s no faster way to get plugged in to committees and working groups. We definitely need your time and energy more than ever, whether it’s contacting other members or elected officials, serving as a mediator, or even making posts like this one. Our ability to labor for each other makes us an unstoppable force, and now it’s time for you to join the winning team.
We’re also having our general meeting on Saturday. We’ll be talking to Meagan Day and Micah Uetricht the authors of the wonderful book “Bigger Than Bernie” and talking about our plan to take on Brian Kemp and the corruption of the GOP.
