I’m thrilled to share that Congress has passed the Autism CARES Act of 2024 today, sending it to the President’s desk to be signed into law. Through your support, we protected two decades of progress under this law and ensured that future national autism initiatives address the most critical issues facing autistic people and their families today – from healthcare training to adult services, communication supports and much more.

Autism Speaks is proud to have led on advocacy efforts to renew and expand the critical research, training and data programs under this law. As the only federal law solely dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals with autism and their families, the Autism CARES Act was a top priority of ours this year, but this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without your support.

Together, we sent over 33,000 messages to Congress, making clear that autistic people and their families must remain a priority for national policy.
