PHOTOS & VIDEO: Secretary Benson and Gov. Whitmer sign official certificates for the 2024 General Election
LANSING, Mich. – Michigan’s electors for Donald Trump and J.D. Vance will meet in the State Capitol Building tomorrow, Dec. 17, to officially cast Michigan’s 15 electoral votes for the winning candidates of the 2024 Presidential Election.
On Dec. 3, in preparation for the meeting of the electors, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the Certificates of Ascertainment, official documents that identify Michigan’s chosen electors for president and vice president, in strict accordance with the law.

Michigan electors will meet on Dec. 17 in the State Capitol Building to officially cast Michigan’s 15 electoral votes. The President of the U.S. Senate will present these certificates in a joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, and Congress will certify the official vote.
